Organization Overview: The mission of the Southern AIDS Coalition (SAC) is to end the HIV epidemic and other health disparities in the South. We are a non-partisan coalition of government, community, and
business organizations and leaders working to prevent new HIV transmissions and build a healthier South
for people living with HIV and those at high risk for HIV transmission. We do this through (1) public health
advocacy; (2) capacity building assistance and education; (3) leadership development and resiliency
building for PLWHIV; (4) research and evaluation; (5) addressing stigma; and (6) strategic grantmaking.

We envision a South where every person has access to high-quality health care and essential support
services (including safe, decent, affordable housing), free from stigma and discrimination. We also
envision a South where every person understands their risk for HIV transmission, receives routine
screening, and has immediate access to a full range of treatment options or prevention interventions and
harm reduction services. We finally envision a South which leads the nation in health outcomes.

Position Overview: This grant funded position will assist in coordinating capacity building activities benefitting Ryan White funded health departments and service providers in the southern United States,
in order to advance their ability to achieve the goals of jurisdictional plans for Ending the HIV Epidemic: A
Plan for America (EHE).

Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties of this position include:
● Support the Technical Assistance Provider Innovation Network (TAP-IN) project through
coordination of technical assistance, engagement with health department staff, administrative
functions, tracking of deliverables, and other project monitoring as appropriate.
● Travel to identified health departments for required site visits, technical assistance, planning
meetings, etc.
● Work in collaboration with program consultants and other faculty
● Represent SAC on TAP-IN advisory groups to ensure optimal collaboration with partners and
stakeholders.
● Support development of technical assistance tools and trainings for health departments
● Provide technical assistance to state health department related to effective implementation of
their jurisdictional plans under the EHE
● Onboard appropriate faculty to implement technical assistance plans
● Represent SAC and its positions at meetings, briefings, and consultations related to state
department HIV health care programs
● Provide logistical support on project activities as needed.
● Other duties as requested by the Director of Health Department Initiatives

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates will possess either:
A. A Master’s degree in public health, health administration, public administration or some other
related discipline and at least one (1) year relevant experience with a Ryan White funded local or
state health department or multi-service Ryan White funded clinic/service agency; or
B. A Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, public administration or some other
related discipline and at least three (3) years of relevant experience with a Ryan White funded
local or state health department or multi-service Ryan White funded clinic/service agency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Strong desire to work with communities that are disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS in the
South, including gay, bi, same-gender loving and other men-who-have-sex-with-men, transgender
or gender non-conforming persons, Latinx persons, cisgender Black women, and persons
experiencing poverty
● Working knowledge of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, particularly Part B and ADAP
● Working knowledge of the inner workings of state and local health departments
● Skillful in effective project management in collaboration with multiple partners
● The ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team
● Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, establish workload
priorities, and meet deadlines;
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to edit/proofread
professional writing;
● Ability to take initiative, set goals, and execute tasks with limited direct supervision;
● Ability to travel frequently and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as part of a
flexible work schedule;
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and desired experience with database management
● Experience with developing and delivering health-focused trainings/workshops and materials for
adult learners.
Location: It is strongly encouraged that applicants either be from the South or have solid experiential knowledge of life in the South. Reasonable relocation assistance is available for a chosen candidate who lives more than 50 miles outside of Atlanta. Up to 1/3 of work days may be remote.
