Living Well Beyond HIV

Living Well
Beyond HIV

This is our flagship training. We go beyond the basic facts of HIV transmission and move toward true resilience. We’ll discuss the drivers of the epidemic in our communities, what science says about viral suppression, and the newest prevention strategies available to our brothers and sisters. We’ll also explore how language perpetuates stigma and discrimination against PLHIV and other marginalized communities. Finally, we’ll invest some time to build your emotional intelligence and support your overall wellness.

Younity Workshop

Younity Workshop

This day-long interactive workshop, facilitated by and for PLHIV, allows you to explore real-life stigma narratives and experiences. We’ll engage in discussion and exercises to develop and strengthen coping skills such as practicing relaxation and self-care. We’ll also use a series of videos to show potentially stigmatizing situations that involve family, friends, and co-workers. We’ll then role play ways to navigate these situations effectively.

Southern Salvation

Southern Salvation

What happens when the place that is supposed to bring healing and hope actually inflicts harm? This interactive training allows you to reflect on your faith experience and share your story of how that experience impacts your life with HIV. We’ll also explore alternative methods of approaching your faith leaders to have meaningful conversations about how this community can help end the HIV epidemic in the South.

Advocacy in Action

Advocacy in Action

Ready to be the change you want to see in the South? With this training, you learn how to start holding people in power accountable for the policy changes and strategic investments we need in our communities. We’ll explore the fundamentals of grassroots advocacy, including an overview of the legislative process. You’ll learn concrete skills and tips to educate policymakers about HIV and its impact on your state and local communities.

The Power of Story

The Power of Story

For this training, we partner with our friends at GLAAD to help you uncover, hone, and communicate your narrative. We’ll explore best practices, tools, and techniques to transform you into a compelling storyteller, media-savvy navigator, and mighty ambassador whose voice breaks through the noise and incites real change for your community.
